A one-day cleanup for the Ohio and its tributaries, the Sweep covers almost 3,000 miles of shoreline and averages more than 20,000 volunteers each year. In addition to collecting trash, its purpose is to raise awareness of water-quality problems caused by litter and illegal dumping. |
