From canoes to pirogues, bateaux and steamboats, Louisiana’s unique maritime history and culture, it's all here at the Wooden Boat Festival.

Every year the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum pays tribute to the hand-crafted wooden boats of the Gulf Coast. Hundreds of boats will line the banks of the Tchefuncte River as 30,000 wooden boat enthusiasts come to celebrate the wonders of wood and water.

Plenty of free parking, contests, parades, music, good food, crafts, artists and easy access make the Wooden Boat Festival one of the most popular events in the South. We welcome you to the 2013 Wooden Boat Festival, created to highlight what makes Louisiana’s maritime history great! Start your discovery of the history and culture of wooden boats with us!
