Hubbell Marine Ground Fault Receptacles
With advanced GFCI receptacles from Hubbell Marine and Hubbell/Wirecon, occupants of boats, marinas, RVs and homes near water remain safe in the event of a ground fault. All advanced GFCI receptacles comply with the Underwriter Laboratories (UL) 943 mandate.
Should a defective tool, appliance or power cord cause a ground fault with leakage in excess of 4 to 6 milliamps, the GFCI opens the circuit. With power interrupted, the duration of electrical current flow is limited. Once tripped, the receptacle is reset with the touch of a button.
Using the test button, owners can ensure the GFCI is working properly. If for any reason GFCI protection is disrupted, a red LED flashes to alert the user, a feature not available on comparable products.
A warning indicator prevents owners from having to immediately find an alternative power source, causing potentially unsafe conditions from overloaded power strips or cords run under carpeting. Even with lost functionality, GFCI receptacles remain as safe as standard receptacles, because the grounding feature still offers protection.
These GFCI receptacles can be mounted on any standard 2 1/2" deep box. Thanks to a feed-through feature, the receptacle and any other receptacles located downstream on the same circuit gain ground fault protection. Receptacle units accept fork terminals. Rated for 15 and 20 amps, they come in white, ivory, gray, almond, light almond, black or red. The company also offers faceless versions.
All Hubbell Marine and Hubbell/Wirecon Ground Fault Receptacles, as well as the company's extensive offering of UL Listed Portable Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters, provide a reliable safeguard against danger from line-to-ground electrical shock.
Suggested retail prices for the GFCI receptacles start at $19.95. Contact Hubbell Marine Electrical Products at 475-882-4838 or www.hubbell-marine.com.
