Pickwick Lock Closure to Begin April 16
The Nashville Engineer District reports that because of budget reductions assocaited with the federal budget "sequestration," the district has had to make changes to its planned repair work at Pickwick Lock at Tennessee River Mile 206.7.
Originally, the district planned for a three-week closure of the auxiliary lock chamber beginning April 16, followed by a three-week closure of the main chamber beginning May 21.
Now, however, it is the main chamber that will be closed on April 16, beginning at 6 a.m. The closure is scheduled to last until 6 p.m. on May 22.
Under the revised schedule, the closure of the auxiliary chamber has been postponed indefinitely.
